Description:

  • This position requires student employee to perform basic administrative duties to assist with the mission and purpose of Guest Services.
  • These duties include, but are not limited to, making and taking phone calls and emails relating to the scheduling and coordination of events on campus.
  • The student will mainly be responsible for coordination of events scheduled in the Hunter Alumni Center, but may also assist with events scheduled in other areas of campus on a limited basis.
  • Student will be required to learn and become efficient in both Astra scheduling software and Quickbooks. S/he will be required to generate Facilities Use Agreements and estimates for events and provide insurance information to guests.
  • This position requires a strong commitment to excellence, dependability, good time management skills, ability to multi-task, and strong attention to details.
  • There are two vacancies for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Must be well organized with strong attention to details.
  • Must be comfortable communicating in a professional manner by phone, email and in person.
  • Must be personable and able to work well with faculty, staff, student peers and community members.
  • Must be able to to take direction and work both independently and as a member of a team of student employees and staff.
  • Must have excellent verbal, spelling and grammatical skills.
  • Must be dependable and able/willing to work over campus breaks, including Fall, winter, spring breaks and during the summer months.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Professional mannerism and dress is required.
  • Ability to see a project from start to finish, using good time management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and complete tasks with deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an often fast-paced, busy office environment.
  • Basic knowledge of campus facilities is a plus.
  • Must be able to to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Familiar with Gmail and Google Suite.
  • Must be able to learn and become proficient in the Astra scheduling program and basic Quickbooks.
  • Must be able to commit to working 20 hours per week during the semester.
